Cowichan Performing Arts Centre Presents

Artist Talk & Open House: James Darin Corbiere

Join us for an artist talk and open house of March 11 from 4-6 pm.

Eastern Woodland Art by James Darin Corbiere presents On a Cosmic Journey through Space and Time.

BC Places and Sacred Spaces

The artwork in this show is Transformational, both literally and figuratively. Many of the artworks take more than one form, and have the ability to change to tell a different story. The artworks are in collections that easily stand alone on their own, but, when combined, as is done in this first -ever full exhibit, they tell of a personal  journey of Transformation and Healing.

James Darin Corbiere is Aanishinaabe from the Great Lakes region, living on Vancouver Island. A former police officer and secondary school teacher, James is the creator of the Truth in Truth and Reconciliation Board Game (published by Medicine Wheel Publishing) and the writer and illustrator of DeD-C-Comics. His Authentic, Original, Indigenous artworks are in the eastern Woodlands style from the Great Lakes region of Canada, and are created using Ink and Copper on White Ash Wood.

Showcasing both original art and full-sized prints, comic books, and a board game, 50+ works represent seven years of artist accomplishments. This exhibit features QR codes that link to an immersive, storytelling video.
